In the future, Unic will also use IBM’s “WebSphere Commerce” software for the establishment and operation of complex online shops in B2C and B2B markets, and Heiler’s “Product Manager” software in the field of Product Information Management (PIM) – particularly if highly diverse and dynamic product ranges have to be managed. The two products – from IBM and Heiler – complement each other very well. This combination fulfils the high expectations of large companies for e-Business solutions to be as flexible as possible and achieve the best possible impact.
E-Commerce sales are rising rapidly. The dynamics of the range is increasing, product ranges are constantly being increased and innovated. Parallel to this, the demands regarding user-orientated product presentation and user guidance are on the increase. At the same time, the speed and stability of the Internet shop must be guaranteed.
“In the meantime, the demands on e-Business solutions are very exacting. Online sales have become an important business component and must be seamlessly integrated into the existing environment. Using our strategic and conceptional know-how and our new system suppliers IBM and Heiler, we are now even better able to meet these demands”, according to Marc Degen, e-Commerce/PIM Business Unit Manager at Unic.
IBM is arguably the most successful software provider for e-Commerce worldwide. However, this fact is still largely unknown in Switzerland. This is about to change. As Ms Monika Moesch, WebSphere Manager for Switzerland and Austria, puts it: “We were looking for an experienced partner for complex e-Commerce projects that can accompany customers professionally both during consultancy, implementation and introduction, and in the operative phase. In Unic, we have found this partner. We very much look forward to working together.”
Heiler is a leading PIM systems manufacturer. Customers such as Bertelsmann, Roche and Hagemeyer use Heiler. Frank Schmidt, Heiler Board Member, is looking forward to cooperation with Unic: “Perfect e-Commerce requires perfect product information. Unic acts as a consultant for several companies when introducing PIM systems and possesses a wealth of experience with customers from a wide array of markets and with the most diverse product ranges.”
Stephan Müller, Unic AG’s CEO explains: “The widening of our solutions portfolio is a logical consequence of the surge in demand for highly demanding e-Commerce and PIM solutions. We develop our customers’ e-Business further.”
